Who Should Attend This Workshop?
Distance Job & Career Transition Coach (DJCTC) for Career Advisors Who Coach or Counsel Clients and Customers via the Telephone and/or Internet

Eligibility:
This course is only open to career practitioners who have completed a face-to-face Job & Career Transition Coach (JCTC) or Job & Career Development Coach (JCDC) certification workshop offered by the Career Development Network.

Workshop Content

Taught entirely on-line, this certification is for career practitioners who work with clients and customers on-line or by telephone. Based on the proven JCTC program, this speciality credential was developed in consultation with Dick Knowdell and is taught by Dr Sally Gelardin who has an extensive background in distance teaching using both the Internet and telephone. If you are interested in this new credential, contact Dr. Gelardin at sal@gelardin.net.

Help clients find gainful employment or make a career changes through distance or blended delivery of career coaching or advising. Here are learning activities in the training:

  • Complete and interpret three Online Career Assessment Instruments (Career Values, Motivated Skills and Personality Style)
  • Perform Online Labor Market and Employment Research
  • Complete a Lifelong Employability e-Course for Career Practitioners
  • Create a Job and Career Development Profile and an e-Portfolio
  • Practice applying Distance Coaching and Advising Skills
  • Participate in three 1-hour Teleclasses
  • Participate in three 1-hour Tele-Interviews with Career Leaders.

Continuing Education Hours
Individuals who participate in Network-sponsored workshops earn continuing education hours that are approved for National Certified Counselors (NCC) by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and Marriage and Family Therapists (MFT) and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (PCE # 3111)

Fee: The registration fee for the three-day workshop is $750 per attendee. The fee includes access to three online assessment tools,  Lifelong Employability e-Course & Practitioner Manual, three (3) Tele-Conferences and three (3) Tele-Interviews. Everyone who participates in these conference calls will dial a regular toll number (not toll-free/1-800). Any long-distance charges incurred depend on each participant’s long-distance plan and service provider, which will charge its customers directly.

About The Trainer
SALLY GELARDIN, Ed.D., is a certified Career Development Facilitator eLearning Instructor (CDFI) and Provider of the Global CDF curriculum, a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), a Distance Credentialed Counselor (DCC), and a certified Job and Career Transition Coach (JCTC). Through e-learning curriculum design and development, career expert audio interviews, presentations, radio/television interviews, and publications for print and electronic media, Sally demonstrates ways workers in transition can develop lifelong employability skills. She administers the Job Search Practitioner Certificate and teaches the eLearning Global Career Development Facilitator curriculum, the Distance Job and Career Transition Coach Certificate training, and other career and wellness programs. She serves as Women's Studies Portfolio Evaluator at the University of San Francisco, and provides career and self-care services for individuals, small businesses, organizations, and educational institutions. Dr. Gelardin is past-president of the California Career Development Association and an active member of the National Career Development Association and the American Counseling Association (Cyber-Technology Task Force Chair). She received the Robert Swan award in 2008 for Lifetime Achievement in Career Development from the California Career Development Association (CCDA).
