Workshop Content

The NCDA Career Development Facilitator (CDF) Training is a 120-hour instructional program designed for individuals who assist others with career development. The training has value to both front-line personnel and program administrators in a variety of settings. The course content includes:
- Labor Market Information and Resources (including the Internet)
- Career Planning Process
- Basic Helping and Facilitating Skills
- Career Development Models and Theories
- Job Search Techniques
- Informal and Formal Assessment Approaches
- Diversity and Special Population Needs
- Developing Portfolios
- Developing an Effective Career Resource Center
- Case Management and Referral Skills
- Ethical and Scope of Practice Issues
- Using the Internet in Career Facilitation
Upon completion, graduates are eligible for global
certification through the Center for Credentialing and
Education (CCE) (www.cce-global.org)

- Three-Day Face-to-Face Workshop
June 15-16-17, 2011 in San Francisco Bay Area
- One Hour Teleclasses
Ten One-Hour Twice-a-Month Teleconferences
- Eighty Hours of Homework Assignments
Monthly Assignments Between The Two Workshops
- Two-Day Face-to-Face Workshop
November (TBA), 2011 in San Francisco Bay Area
Workshop Fee: $1,950 per student

About The Trainers Roberta Floyd & Sally Gelardin
Bobbi Floyd, MA, NCC, NCCC, LPC, is a past president of the National Employment Counseling Association (NECA) and has over twenty years of experience as Coordinator of Career Counseling in Employment and Training Programs. She was a member of the Career Development Training Institute team at Oakland University that developed the Career Development Facilitator Curriculum and produced Workforce in Transition: A Blueprint for Adult Career Development and Job Search Training. She currently works as a counselor at Oakland Community College.
Sally Gelardin, Ed.D., NCC, JCTC, DCC is the author of Mother-Daughter Relationship:Activities for Promoting Lifework Success and Editor of Starting and Growing a Business in the New Economy and Career & Caregiving: Empowering the Shadow Workforce of Family Caregivers. She served as Guest Editor of the Career Planning and Adult Development Journal. She is a past president of the California Career Development Association (CCDA) and an active member of the National Career Development Association (NCDA) and the American Counseling Association (ACA). She developed and runs the Careerwell Tele-Interviews and The Job Juggler’s distance-delivered Job Search Practitioner Certificate Program and facilitates the Distance Job and Career Transition Coach certificate training.
